"Recon" Trip to Central Asia
We want to give you an update on our orphanage plans.
We’re leaving Thusday for Central Asia. We’ll be there for a month looking for land and facilities for the orphanage.
We’re really excited about this trip. It’s going to be a process of discovery to find just the right place to establish the orphanage. Ever since we bought our tickets, Nicola has had an extra spring in her step, and I’m excited too. She’s so excited to prepare to be back out in the field and to begin our new journey working with orphans!
While we’re there, we’re going to meet our attorney to finalize our non-profit foundation that will be the entity that leases land and buys buildings we will use.
For weeks Nicola’s been packing bags to leave there with supplies we’ll need when we’re over there full time. As she’s been packing, she’s been “seeing” us there using those things, and “seeing” the children in the buildings, and growing food on the land. We’ve been super-busy. It’s taken a lot of preparation here at home to get ready to leave.
We leave this Thursday and arrive on Saturday, a 20-hour trip across three days. We value your prayers for travel, and that all the foundation plans go smoothly, that we meet the people that will be most helpful to us, and that we get the questions we have answered.
I, Nicola, want to personally thank those of you who have loved, prayed for, and supported me through the years in my work – first teaching in St. Petersburg Russia, then working with orphans there, and finally in Central Asia. We are standing on your shoulders and are SO looking forward to building on the foundation that you have built.
You are making it possible for us to start this orphanage in Central Asia. Through you, lives are going to be changed forever. Not only the precious children’s lives, but those whose lives they touch and ours too. If you ever have, or are supporting us now, thank you so much. Consider supporting this critical mission.
We’re excited to report back to you in December what happened during our trip, and we’re expecting great things.
