A new roof will make the orphanage safe
Patches upon patches unsuccessfully made for years to keep out rain and snow
Duct tape used to patch roof in places
Section of bathroom ceiling that fell due to leaking roof
Dangerous Leaking Roof
The mixture of mud and straw used to patch up the ceilings is far from water-resistant in the formerly abandoned elementary school-turned-orphanage. Rain and melting snow drip through the roof’s patchwork causing large sections of ceilings to fall, narrowly missing people…including my Nicola!
A safe, secure, and dry home is a basic need that most of us enjoy and maybe even take for granted. Imagine your roof leaking for 13 years causing large areas of your heavy mud ceilings to crash down unpredictably. Imagine your concern as you wonder if the duct tape that you put over the cracks in the roof is going to hold as the rain and snow start falling outside.
